A self described “swanky-tonk”, La Grange, located in Deep Ellum, is Dallas’ newest Texas (read modern country) themed bar and music venue. Modeled after two bars in Austin (Continental Club and La Condesa), La Grange opened late 2009.
Since then, La Grange has hosted many local alt-country and downright country acts. La Grange has a small stage in the bar area, with a great sound system. Head to the back for a nice patio. The drinks are average priced, but make sure you ask for an alcoholic snow-cone. Be sure to take a visit on a Movie Night (Wednesdays), when food is BOGO.
La Grange, along with Trees and the Double Wide, is one of my favorite venues in Deep Ellum, and is helping to lead the charge in Deep Ellum’s most recent resurgence.
