Hailing from the UK, The Horrors make the long trip across the pond for a jaunt over to Deep Ellum’s Prophet Bar on Tuesday, September 20th.
For those uninitiated into the musical stylings of The Horrors, they’ve been deemed by some critics as playing “record collector rock“. Bound by a shared passion for obscure vinyl records, the members of The Horrors (Rhys Webb, Faris Badwan, Tom Cowan, Joshua Hayward, Joe Spurgeon) are known to borrow heavily from these influences. Their sound is probably best described as a mix of The Cure’s moody new wave, My Bloody Valentine’s fuzzy guitar shoegaze and The Jesus and Mary Chain’s vocal stylings.
The Horrors are touring in support of their most recent release, Skying, which has been received well by most critics.
The Prophet Bar promises to be a good venue for this show, so you won’t want to miss it. Tickets can be purchased at the venue or online.
